We're so glad when Daddy comes home!

When Trey gets home at night from school Jonas, Clara and Nora run for the door as fast as they can and  start screaming at the top of their lungs, "Papa, Papa!  Papa's home!"  In those few moments it is a mad house, but I love that they are so excited to see him EVERY single time.

Little Stinker

A few days ago Nora came into my bedroom with her pants down and a very concerned look on her face.  I asked her what was wrong and her lower lip started to tremble, tears came to her eyes and she rambled, "poop spill it clean it myself towel".  Uh, oh.  I ran to the bathroom and found poop and potty all over the floor, a soaked towel and her little potty seat was tipped over.  She had tried to empty it herself,  it spilled and so she tried to clean it up herself.  Fast forward to today.  We were getting ready to head out the door to pick Clara up from pre-school and I was helping Nora put her jacket on.  I smelled something nasty and noticed a big brown streak across her shirt.  Sniff... yep, it was poop.  I then saw her hand.  Yep, poop.  Yuck!  She's hasn't been potty-trained that long, but she never tells me when she needs to go.  She just goes into the restroom, takes care of her business, and I'm left hoping she does an okay job.  The positive side?  She is very independent in other areas as well.

Family time, Quality time?

Okay.  So here we have my husband helping my 2 1/2 year old learn how to shoot a BB gun.  Crazy?  Um, yes.  When we first got married I was so against guns , but now that we've been married for 8 years I have come to accept the fact that Trey's family is BIG into guns and therefore it is a part of him.  It is now a part of me.  Weird.  I actually enjoy going out in the hills to shoot at bottles and cans.  Sounds very red neck, I know.   Jonas got a BB gun from Grandpa Dewey for Christmas so we took the family out the other weekend to test it out (I still think he's too young for his own gun :)).
Clara liked shooting Trey's 22 instead, I think because it was shiny and gold.  Such a girl.
It's a little hard to shoot and that is why Jonas has such a scrunchy face.  I'm glad he needs help shooting it, it's also air pumped or something or other for safety reasons.  So no, Ralphy, you won't shoot your eye out.   You think he'll hit his mark with his eyes closed?

WE LOVE ATTICUS!

Papa and the babe.
My mom gave us a Bumbo when Clara was a baby and we have used it faithfully since then.  They are expensive, but so convenient.
The kids have all adjusted to the new baby wonderfully.  Clara is a little mom and helps whenever I need it.  Nora is so sweet with him and hasn't shown signs of jealousy at all.  Jonas is just pumped to have a brother.
One month old, Trey had him smiling so cute.
After his first bath, I love the fuzz head.
Another pic. of when Trey was making Atticus smile.  Don't let the picture fool you though.  He has LUNGS like no other and knows how to use them.  The first two months are such an adjustment, I always forget how hard they are.  My day seems to consist of feeding, burping and changing Atticus.  When I'm not doing that I'm trying to get him to stop crying.  A clean house?  Yeah right.  My hair done?  Yeah right.  A healthy, well thought out meal?  Yeah right.  Me time?  Yeah right.  A good nights sleep?  Hmph.  Oh, wo is me!  Everyday seems to be getting a little better.  One month down, one more to go!

Disneyland!!

We went to Disneyland on Dec. 26th with Trey's family.  10 days after Atticus was born!  Trey's family is so generous, they paid for our whole trip.  Everyone was so helpful (especially when Jonas got lost- Thanks Bo!) and I am so blessed to have such great in-laws.  It was fast and furious, but fun.  It is the most magical place on Earth afterall.

Jonas lost his second tooth at the hotel.  He was amazed that the Tooth Fairy found him at Disneyland!
Clara had breakfast with the Princesses and got to meet Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, Belle, and Cinderella.  She was in HEAVEN!
Jonas loved absolutely everything.  He was so much fun because he could ride most things and he never tired of it.  His favorite ride was Toy Story.  Clara's favorite was the Tea Cups.
Nora couldn't ride very many things and mostly kicked it in her stroller the whole time.  She was a trooper.
Atticus was a gem.  All he did was eat, sleep, poop, repeat.  I love his Mickey Mouse beanie!

He made it!

ATTICUS WILLIAM FOUTZ
Born December 16, 2008 at 1:25 am
8 lbs. 21 inches
So, you might remember that the doc was going to induce me at 6:00am.  Luckily, I started having contractions at 9:00 pm and had the baby 4 1/2 hrs. later.  I think it was the Castor Oil!  Labor was good, except the doctor didn't get there on time.  He walked in the door just as Atticus plopped out on the bed (too much info?).  As always, Trey was a champ.  He is an awesome birthing coach.  I called my dad and told him we were headed to the hospital at about 11:00 and he showed up at the hospital around 11:30 with Paige and Preston.  Trey and I were very surprised to see them there.  They stayed in the lobby until the baby was born, so they were the first ones besides us to see him.  It was fun to have them there, I'm sure they were exhausted, they didn't leave until almost 3:00 am!  We have had soooooo much help and support from friends and family, it has been wonderful!!
